Happy Halloween

Halloween is here and the children are all excited and dressed up in their costumes. My son has been waiting for trick or treaters with his bag of sweets but sadly (or gladly) no one knocked. More sweets for us!

Had good fun with the pumpkin too. Didn't go too mad with the scarey face at Dylan's request. From a paranormal point of view I've had a night off this year.

The scariest thing tonight is watching the terrible twins on x factor.

Happy Halloween

Cheers

Haunted Buildings

I have found during my time exploring buildings for paranormal activity that often my perception is influenced by the surroundings. It's hard not to allow an old derelict castle create an aura of expectation while a newish or well maintained building may feel too clean to contain anything ghostly.

In reality the modern build could have been witness to real tragedy and horror while the old ruin could have had very minor if any.

So how do you switch off expectations? This is something I find really hard and it can often spoil a night out when nothing happens in the ruin and I don't expect anything in the modern.

But if you read my report on M&M Embroidary Factory this challenges that perception yet it's hard accept it.

What I'm driving at is that we are surrounded by hundreds of years of history, tragedy and murder and often these morid scenes are the foundations of many new or newish places. When exploring these places you need to see past what you're looking at and tune into the atmosphere. But that is easier said than done.

I'd be interested to know what other people think.
