Things you should know about website design.
When clients ask how much a website will cost, it's not as straight forward as quoting a figure. There are a few considerations to take into account such as:

• What kind of website would you like?
• What do you want it to say about you?
• Do you have a fixed budget?

To give websites personality and originality we like to design them on an individual basis. However, if you're on a fixed budget, we have some website templates which we can adapt to suit you and they can be viewed online.

Websites are like a permanent advertisement which is globally available, 24 hours a day. If you measured that availability in printed advertising terms, websites are very cost effective.

What we need before work commences.
We will free you of the worry of the design process. All we need to do is ask you a few questions and for you to give us any materials such as photos, logos and text that you'd like included, perhaps a company brochure or similar.

When we have submitted a quote for the work, we'll require a deposit of 20% to secure the contract. We can't have you nipping off after we've spent hours on your site can we?;;-)

We'll also need contact details and as mentioned before, all the information you want putting on the site. All of this will be discussed with you.

How do I get online?
We'll do all this for you. We can arrange to put your website online either on your free web space provided by your ISP or have it hosted properly by an Online Provider. In either case we'll need to know your server details and password to allow us to upload the website.

Alternatively you can do it yourself, but we can't provide support if you choose this option.

If you opt to have a domain name we can arrange the registration of this and have your email forwarded to your current email address. If you use your free web space, the web address can be forwarded too. The cost of this depends on which company you choose to register with, or again, leave it up to us!

When I'm online, then what?
As part of our service we will submit your website to over 50 search engines (all of the well known popular ones like Lycos, Alta Vista and Excite etc.,). Don't worry if your website doesn't appear straight away as some search engines can take up to 6 months to list new websites. In the meantime you can spread the word via email, word of mouth, newspaper advertisements, articles and stationary etc,.

What are your prices?
The cost of a site depends on how many pages and images it has. Graphic design work such as buttons, logos, illustrations or any scanning of images can add to the initial cost, but the end result will have beneficial returns in the amount of traffic the website receives.

To give you an idea (price wise) we've created 3 template sites and quoted a price for them. Of course extra pages, forms, graphics etc,. adds to the cost.

I'm on a fixed budget, what are Template websites?
Templates are a more cost affective alternative to having a website built from scratch. You choose which template type you want, provide the necessary text and images and we'll put it together for you. We have designed 3 four page website templates, click one of the blue links below to view them.

• Up to 4 Web pages including 1 form.
• 1 logo and 2 images per page.

Please Note: A form occupies one web page, you may substitute a form page for a regular page. Form results require a cgi to utilize the full advantages of forms. Your hosting provider usually supports cgi, again leave this up to us.

Site maintenance, what is it?
If you'd like your site updated, changed or have more pages added without involving a complete redesign, we can arrange this for a fixed hourly fee. This is preferable to charging per change which other companies tend to do. A Site Maintenance contract starts from £20+ per hour.
